El Burrito Amigo Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

This place is okay. The burrito was decent, but average. Also, smaller than I expected. I guess I have been spoiled by the generous portions at TBK.

This opened a few years back and I'm glad it did. It's a nice little spot, smaller than I'd expected, but small doesn't mean it's bad. Good location right there on Grand about a block down from the 25th ave. intersection. Plenty of parking. The service is always fine. It's not over the top but they're not completely negligent either. I haven't tried too much on the menu yet to give an extensively thorough review of every meal, but I've had the burrito meals several times and they're just fine. Moderate portion sizes; not your typical Taco Burrito King fulfillment, but they're generous enough to satisfy you. Prices are fair. It's an alright spot, but conveniently located; so it makes it better.

My dad used to order food from here all the time and I would sometimes go pick it up for him. The guys that work here are nice and friendly but several times they've made mistakes with orders. The food here is ok but the last time we ordered it was just unsatisfactory. I ordered a torta dinner and the bread was all soggy and the outer crust area was stiff. The avocado was slightly unripe and the beans were like half cooked. They were just gross. They also messed up part of our order. The tacos here are better than their tortas but other than that there's much better Mexican food places to order from. This place used to be good a while ago but now it's just gone downhill for some reason.

This place is terrific man. The steak is soft and tender. They seem to know how to tenderize steak properly which shows a lot about a places dedication because that takes time. The prices are great and everything on the menu is top notch Mexican food. Rare for a strip mall joint. I've had some bad experiences with strip mall joints like burritos express and their skimpy burritos but this place will fill you up. Highly recommended as a pick up and go joint over fast food. It's cheap, delicious, and filling.

Just came back from eating here with the wife...WOW! They're tacos of Carne Asada & Al Pastor are out of this world. To top it off, their Horchata is not to sweet & not to watery. Just perfect baby :-) I'll be coming back here for sure. Especially given the fact that my new neighborhood "Harwood Heights" ain't got no good Taco places around. Only a 10 minute drive us.

I live right down the street from them and as much as I do like taco bell every now and then. When the one close by opened up I kinda got burned out on them. So it was nice to have a goood mexican place open up so close to me and at first I had the steak burrito dinner. I was absolutly amazed the burrito was so big it took two sittings to finish and I'm picky about my beans. I love the beans here ad the rice is amazing too. My favorite though is the chicken tacos. The ground beef, steak and the pork are also amazing. My only minor complaint is I wish they had nachos.

Best tacos ever!!!! Their steak is amazing. Prices are reasonable since quality is great. Service is awesome as well. They have recently expanded making it even better. Their Sopes are good too. Not like other places where they buy the pre cooked ones and serve them hard as rocks!

Best steak in the area (that I know of). This is my go to Mexican restaurant. Menu is simple but this is the type of restaurant that knows what they are good at and sticks too it. Their Carne asada is great in any transportation used whether it's a taco,Burrito whatever. Cheese taste good. Everything taste pretty fresh. My only complaints would be that the AL pastor is way too oily...it's dripping out of my Burrito. And the rice and beans are not very consistent.. 1 day the beans are runny some days they are not. Some days the rice is too soft some days it's perfect. Not a big deal I guess, just would like to see more consistency. They doubled the size of this place in the last few years so they must be doing something right. This place is no LA pasadita but very decent food, fast service and good customer service. And excuse my language but this place shits on Mr taco that's down the street...

If there was a sixth star to add to this rating chart i would because the cashier (Omar) made my first time experience at El Burrito Amigo one to remember. He made sure me and my friends were taken care of and had an amazing personality. Im definatly going back.

Excellent steak burrito. They say they use skirt steak and actually do, unlike other places that claim to use skirt steak then give you another lesser cut of meat. People are incredibly friendly and interested in your business. I wish the burrito had a bit more steak and a bit less lettuce but it was enough to eat, at least for me. Definitely better than other places around, like La Parrilla and others which I find overrated.

They're pretty decent and cheap. The only thing that bothers me about this place is that the men behind the counter stare at you like a piece of meat. Disrespecting your female customer base is what I dislike about this place.

My go to place for steak anything... They are on point every time and they serve coronas... Best Mexican food around me... Lines can get big when whole families start coming in after church so beware of the line on Sunday's

So I'd like to call myself a taco aficionado. Hands-down the best steak tacos I've ever had. Service is impeccable and the cleanliness of this restaurant is far beyond others.

Best tacos & service ever!!! The meat has so much flavor, place is clean and staff is very friendly & fast! Love this place and can honestly they have earned a loyal customer today!

Love this place! My co-workers and I are addicted! Hands down, best Mexican joint around! Steak tacos, steak burritos and Chile relleno are soooo yummy! They are generous with the amount of steak and very flavorful. I just don't recommend the flour tortillas. I think they use a burrito tortilla and cut into fourths. So I get corn. My bf accidentally ordered me tacos with lettuce and tomato and I don't like tomato so I went back to get new tacos and they gave to me no questions asked. And they didn't ask for the other tacos back. When they could of just thrown out. My co-worker did just mention the Chile relleno pepper wasn't done all the way, Was chewy and cheese wasn't melted all the way but no other complaints so far. I highly recommend this place!

You cannot go wrong with any items on the menu that have steak on it at this place. They have the best tasting steak around! Steak tacos, steak burritos, steak tortas; take your pick- they are all awesome. The place had expanded not too long ago and it gets busier every time I go here, so it says something about the quality of the food.

After living in Mexico, I'm very critical of Mexican food. This place is the real deal! The tacos were fresh, moist, and good portions. I got a side of chips and guacamole, which comes in a decent size cup. It was fresh and flavorful, and full to the top of the cup. Highly recommended this place above all others nearby. Big dining area to the side. Parking is fine. Prices are average.

Hands down THE BEST TACOS I have had in a very long time. I don't know how it is that they marinate their meat, but it is incredible. The tacos are a good size, unlike some places. I had the steak tacos, prepared authentic with cilantro and onion. Lots and lots of green and red sauce (I prefer the green, but they are both pretty amazing). Everything is made fresh to order. I have to say this has got to be the very best Mexican restaurant in the Franklin Park/Schiller Park are.

Best Mexican food out this way. Everything is good here. Clean and fast service.

Best Place to get Mexican food in Franklin Park! All their food is great! I took one star off because sometimes they forget to add the cilantro and onions to the salsa when you order chips and salsa.

Great Mexican food ! I'm addicted. But the parking space can get limited since the laundry matt can use them all up.

I don't know what has taken me so long to review this place. Honestly, I went randomly one day because my brother said its good and fell in love a couple months ago. Every time I go I get the same thing the steak taco dinner - $6.99. the STEAK is STEAK! Big chopped pcs and so juicy and amazing! Unlike almost every other taco place! (Yes including your taco Tuesday places!) Also the green and red sauce! OMG I would pay for those recipes! Since I came here a couple months ago.. I have not, nor don't think I will, step foot in another taqueria by choice! I've tried the guacamole and wasn't to impressed. Just regular guacamole. But the beans and rice are so good! The beans are so good, I sometimes want to order extra, and I never eat my beans from these little places. This place inside is super small to eat, but I live about 5 minutes away so that's not a problem for me. Also they guys there always seem rushed.. because they are! They always seem to have a steady amount of business though out the whole day, no matter the time I've gone. But they are never rude. The deco is just like most taqueria's in Chicago. Simple and plain but who cares.. we are all going for are taco fix anyways!

They have amazing tacos!!! Probably the best taco joint in the Franklin Park area. Don't get me wrong, this area is full of delicious Mexican restaurants but when it comes to eating quick original Mexican tacos, this is the place to go. They have a variety of Mexican foods but I always go for the tacos "al pastor" with everything of course. The fresh cilantro and onion on top is only way to eat tacos, but don't forget to add salsa. Those who work there are always friendly, hence the "amigo" in the name of the place. Def a place to visit and enjoy.

El Burrito Amigo is, hands down, the best place to get tacos in the area! Their tacos are prepared authentically (or tex-mex style, if you prefer), they offer generous portions for reasonable prices, and they just expanded their restaurant to offer additional seating! Try the Tacos Al Pastor!

Closest flavor to a real Mexican tacos. Try the Asada,Chorizo,Lengua.. fast service and economic. I Just don't like to visit this place often because I will gain weight!

This is my 2nd favorite restaurant in that area, I live closer to the one by grand and laramie. This is the same owner as the one in the city. It is a lot bigger so you have more room to eat sit sing . Only thing is the parking since its located in a plaza its hard to find any parking during peak hours. Over all pretty decent same flavored meat so theres no difference. Love this chain restaurant

Been coming here for years since they opened their location in Frankling Park, I remember going to their first restaurant on Grand and Laramie when I was a kid and still remember that it was the best tacos ive ever had, brings back good memories.

This is the closest mexican place by me for takeout. Its usually hit or miss with them. Sometimes they get the orders perfect and occasionally they slip up. The staff is great, really nice guys and friendly. the quesadillas are king here. I usually get 3. Made with corn tortillas and a ton of cheese, they do not skimp on the cheese here. you can have them just cheese or pair it with your favorite meat, I usually go with the carne asada quesadillas and its just butter in your mouth. The guac is good too, a good sized portion and plenty of chips. Their lengua is good, and al pastor is ok. Its pretty small so I never eat there its always carry out for me. A good standard place.

The service was quick and they have more than enough workers in this place. it is another small strip mall taqueria and is a good place for local latinos. it is hardly though a world class mexican resteraunt though and I wasn't to crazy over the odor of the food. it tasted all right nothing to special and very similar to the numerous other places that dot the suburban landscape. Reasonably priced.

My favorite burrito joint! The steak meat is the the best, very good flavor and not fatty or tough. The refried beans are a little watery so I don't get them on the burrito so it isn't so messy. Tacos are good. Green hot sauce is the best I've had. They also have fresh squeezed OJ, I've never had it but the machine they have looks pretty cool!! I agree with some of the other reviewers that the boys behind the counter are not very friendly, maybe they don't like white boys, but who cares if the food is good. I go there every time I'm in that area, I wish they would open one up in the Shorewood/Plainfield area, because there isn't any good places around here!

Great tacos de carne asada. No greasy tacos here! Lean steak, torta de al pastor, delicious! can't go wrong.

This place is awesome! By far one of the best tacos I've had in a while. Their taco dinner here is delicious. The steak is great here & best beans & rice I've had as well in quiet some time. The service here is good too. They staff is really friendly. I would definitely recommend everyone to come in here and try their food.

The tacos al pastor are phenomenal! And I'm usually picky when it comes to al pastor. Not all places make it how I like it. I do NOT enjoy it when it's overwhelmingly sweet and pineapple-y. But Burrito Amigo makes them, maybe the best I've ever had. There's only a hint of sweetness, and they're grilled until they're nice and crispy around the edges. They generously pile a bunch of meat on two corn tortillas, and onions and cilantro on top of that. They also gave me grilled onions and a grilled jalapeno on the side (my mouth was BURNING!), along with some lime to squeeze on the tacos (a must!). I will definitely be going back for these alone. Other notes: - A different guy at the register this time around, who seems friendlier than the last guy. - They accept credit/debit, but with a $10 minimum. - They have Mexican Coca Cola! - June 26th is their one year anniversary. Free taco al patror starting at 4:30pm for the first 100 customers. See you then!

The food here is really good. Big fan of their tripe tacos. What really blows me away is their customer service. Great guys working behind the counter 100%. There's this younger guy that works the register that makes you feel like a celebrity. I never would have expected this level of service from a place like this. I recommend this place to anyone who loves great Mexican food and amazing customer service. Too bad I can't give this place 10 stars.

Always hits the spot. Not the friendliest guys in the world but the place is clean and the food is good. They never mess up a carryout order either. Now if they can just keep their salsas from spilling in the bag I would be ecstatic!

  • Dawn P.

My kids and I get the steak taco and torta dinners here at least once a month. Their ingredients are always fresh, their steak is never fatty, and their portions are huge for the price. Their steak burrito is probably 2 meals in itself because it is mostly meat. Their carrots, cauliflower, and jalapenos are free and always tasty. Their horchata is very good also. The guys that work here are very polite, fast, and the food always tastes the same.

This place is super tiny, most people seem to take their food to go though the small dinning area is usually full. The carne asada and al pastor tacos are GOOD! Just make sure you say whether you want lettuce and tomato or the traditional cilantro y cebolla. Easy on the wallet (always a plus!)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
